Her debut EP Hopeless Romantics was released March 20th, 2020. What is your earliest memory of music? And, how did you get started in music? I have so many early memories. I remember completely plagiarizing a melody for my first “song”. It went to the tune of "Somewhere Only We Know" by Keane. I started to write more in middle school. That’s when I really got into writing music. I’ve been playing piano for years. I’ve probably sang for longer. I’m just such a musical person, it really came naturally to me. What was the first song you ever wrote? What or who inspired you to start writing music?
I wrote a few songs before I wrote my single "Dangerous Eyes". But I consider that to be my first song that really got me to be serious about writing music. Do you play any instruments? If yes tell us about it. If not, do you work with a band or studio musicians? Do you produce your tracks or work with a producer? Yes! I play piano, as well as a bit of bass and the ukulele. I really love playing instruments when I write. Hearing the contrasting melodies is fantastic. I also work with a band! Some members have been with me since I started. It’s crazy to think how far I've come. I work with a producer as well, who has really helped me. He has so many ideas, and really brings my songs to life.
What is your favorite part about being an artist (performing, recording, writing, playing)?
Writing a new song is the best feeling in the world. Nothing else can compare. Of course I love performing. It’s such a rush to perform on stage. I love it. But finishing a new song will always be my favorite. Do you have any advice for young women pursuing music? Go for it! Don’t be afraid to put your voice out there. For readers who have never heard your music, can you suggest one or two songs to start with? "Take Me With You" is one of my new songs, and I think it would be really good to listen to first. "Don’t Go" is one of the most emotional songs I've written, I think the message is really important. "Tonight" has been my most successful by far, getting over 60k streams on Spotify. All are on my debut EP 'Hopeless
